Mountain driving puts serious demands on brakes. Long descents at elevation with a heavy truck means sustained braking that will expose any weakness in the system. The original brake lines were showing their age and I didn’t trust the pads or rotors for another winter.

What I Replaced

  • Rotors — All four corners, new blank rotors
  • Brake pads — New ceramic pads front and rear for better heat resistance
  • Brake lines — All rubber flex lines replaced with new OEM-spec lines. The originals were cracking and a blowout on a mountain grade is not something I want to experience
  • Brake fluid — Full flush with DOT 3 fluid

Brakes feel solid now. Night and day difference on steep descents.
